My first painting lesson was when I was 10 or 11 years old. My mother decided that it was time that I learned to paint. She set me up with a canvas board, brushes, water and acrylic paint. I asked what I should paint and she replied anything my heart desires. I painted a landscape of pine trees on a mountainside. The desire was there but not the skill. I continued painting with acrylics off and on since then. I switched to oils for several years, but I returned to painting only in acrylics. I've never looked back.
