Dear Subscriber,
I'd like to share a new painting with you.
When I first came across this scene along South Foxton Road in Jefferson County, it wasn't the water that caught my attention. It was the relationship between the river, the trees, and the rocks.
As I worked on the painting, I found myself simplifying some elements, strengthening others, and pushing the color just enough to bring more energy to the scene while staying true to the place that inspired it.
The finished painting is called "Passage".
I chose that title because I hope it invites you to enter the painting, follow the river, and spend a little time there.
